My sincere condolences to Dave’s family and friends on the loss of this kind and engaging soul. I met Dave when I first started working at Granville Island when we would commiserate on our coffee breaks, our mutual friend Patty dragged me to his band’s shows, and I truly appreciated his talent in performing. I will always hold in my mind his solo performances, especially when he dragged out the Iron bar for a Tom Waits cover. Though we did not talk in the last ten years, my last meeting with him I also had the pleasure of meeting his daughter and it was obvious the love they had for each other, especially to also see how special she was to him.
