Obituary of Paul Anthony Smith

Paul Anthony Smith passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on October 7, 2025, a few days before his 78th birthday.

Paul grew up in St. Marys ON, the son of William and Mary Smith. He received a BA with a major in Fine Arts from Wayne State University, Detroit MI, and studied at Haystack Mt. School of Design in Maine. His career teaching art was at Nelson High School in Burlington ON. Paul always had nature as his muse and during his life was a potter, watercolourist and avid gardener turning to bonsai as an expression of his love of nature and design. Throughout his life he was always in the company of his beloved dogs.

He leaves behind his husband Merv Walker of Burlington ON.

At his request, he will be cremated and buried in St. Marys. His will be buried in St Marys Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
