Obituary of Douglas Everett Scheuermann

Douglas Everett Scheuermann passed away at Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys on July 12, 2026, a month from his 90^th birthday.

Beloved husband of Jessie (Dunsmore), married on July 26, 1958. Father of Bill (Lynn), Joe (deceased)(Mary), Rodger (Elaine). Grandfather of Ryan (Marta), Britany, Shauna (Tyler), James, Katherine, Carrie (Craig), Nicole (Matt), Angela (Jody) and Shawn (Kristen). Great-grandfather of Jaxson, Maverick, Rowan, Jace, Cole, Emma, Berkley, Bennett, Hayden, Clara, and Calvin. Brother of Harold (deceased), Margaret Petrie (Len, deceased), Leona Kittmer, Jack (Lois, deceased), Dave (Pat), and  Don (Ruth). Also remembered by extended family members, nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Louie and Irene.

Doug was a retired employee of the St. Marys Cement Plant. Member of the Canadian Army Reserves, 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 236, and charter member of the Optimist Club of Downie, since 1976.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at Avonbank Cemetery, 3000 Perth Road 134, on July 24, 2026 at 11 am. Those attending are invited to bring a lawn chair. A reception will then follow at the St. Marys Legion Br. 236, 66 Church St. N. St. Marys, until 2 pm. Members of Br. 236 will conduct a Legion Service in the hall at 1 pm.
