Obituary of Homer Rath

Homer Rath, after a courageous battle with Lymphoma, passed away on July 22, 2026 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital at age 85 surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife Sandy (nee Elgie) of 65 years. His kindness and devotion live on through his children Colin (Pat), and Josh (Kelly). Grandfather of Sarah Lynn (Brian), Rachael Rath, and great-grandfather of Lucas. Dearly missed by brother Gordon (Ruth Ann), Irene Hansford (Carl) and predeceased by Carl (Lynn) and sister-in-law Evelyn. Homer will be missed by special feathered friend Luther and grand dog Darby. Special thank you to Dr. Hepburn and staff at St. Marys Memorial Hospital. We have the best hospital around! An open house will be held at the Thames Valley Retirement Hall, 30 Ann St., St. Marys, on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 2 – 4 pm. Private interment at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Lymphoma Canada or the Parkinson Society.

It has been a great life for me! Life is really how we live it.
Not how short or long.

I have been very lucky to have had Sandy as my partner
and a wonderful family and good friends.

Thanks for being a part of my life and the fun times we have had.
