Obituary of Arden Longeway
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of (Anne) Arden Longeway in her 67th year on Sunday Aug 2, 2026 at the St.Marys Memorial Hospital.
Survived by her BFF husband Tomas Longeway (St.Marys). Proud mother of Tom (Shannon) Van Oosterhout (Waterloo), Cathy (Justin) Van Oosterhout (Cambridge). Adored Grandmother of Henry, Alice & Edison Cumby (Cambridge). Survived by her sister Linda O’Hara (St.Marys). Beloved Aunt to Samantha (Annanth) Brown-Aravinthan (Toronto), Olivia (Geon) Brown (Toronto). Cherished by MacKenzie Ballantyne (St.Marys). Predeceased by her Father Elwyn (John) Bryan (Blanchard Township) and Mother (Leona) Ann Bryan (St.Marys).
As the saying goes, "died peacefully
surrounded by loved ones" .....well, I did go peacefully and I was loved, comforted, and hugged until my last breath by my husband and children.
Arden was an incredible woman, but most importantly, she was the most loving Mom, wife and Grandmother.
She thrived with an early morning coffee, accompanied by a routine breath of fresh air. In the evenings you could find her enjoying a frosty Alexander Keith’s.
Arden will be fondly remembered for being a musical prodigy on both the piano and violin. She was a graduate in music from the University of Western Ontario. She carried on throughout her life playing music for loved ones and teaching students who will continue to carry out her musical legacy. She will also be remembered for the time she spent working at the St.Marys Memorial Hospital. She remembered her time there fondly.
She will be so incredibly missed by her family. We intend to honour her by carrying out her sarcasm, dry sense of humour and continue to enjoy the little moments that made our time with her so special.
A private family gathering will be held.
In lieu of flowers and text messages, donations may be made in Arden’s memory to the St.Marys Healthcare Foundation or the Stratford-Perth Humane Society.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Berta and the staff at St.Marys Memorial Hospital for the care given to Arden and our family during this difficult time. A thank you and acknowledgement to the London Health Science Centre - Oncology department for their services. We will be forever grateful for the dedication and regard.
