Obituary of John Mark McKenny

John “Mark” McKenny passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on August 8, 2026 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Forrest). Dear Father of Andrea. Brother of Janice Houston (Bob), Laurie Roth (Tom) and brother-in-law of Paul Forrest.  Cousin of Joan Martin, Darrell Gorvett and Debra Chappel (Dave).  Also remembered by nieces, nephew and their families. Predeceased by his parents John “Jack” and Florence McKenny and parents-in-law Alex and Wilma Forrest.

Born and raised in St. Marys, Mark was a faithful member of St. James Anglican Church and member of the St. Marys Legion Br. 236 for over 50 years. His career with Victoria & Grey Trust, National Trust and Scotia Bank allowed him to travel across Ontario and Canada. He was happy to finish his working career close to home and move back to St Marys.

Early retirement at age 55 allowed him to spend more time with family and friends. He enjoyed socializing with a good game of cards, watching baseball and volunteering his time at the church and Legion. Mark was a long-time member of the St. Marys Legion Cribbage Team.

Family and friends are invited to the ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 65 Church St. S. St. Marys, on Friday, August 14, 2026 for visitation from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 am. Click here to view parking at St. James Anglican.

Interment in St. Marys Cemetery followed by a reception at the St. Marys Legion.
