Obituary of Darrell Thomas Baechler

Darrell “Darry” Thomas Baechler passed away at West Perth Village, Mitchell on August 17, 2026 at the age of 79 surrounded by family.

Beloved husband of Karol (nee Haynes), married on December 25th, 1983.

Devoted father of Lindsay Baechler and her husband Jonathon McCormick, Casey Baechler and her partner Stefan Hebert, and Ashley Baechler.

Cherished grandfather of Logan, Lincoln, and Lachlan.

Brother of Marty (deceased) and his wife Karen Palmer, Lynda Allin (deceased) and her husband Jake, Dale (deceased) and his partner Val Mallough, and Jeff and his wife Rose.

Uncle of Jacki, Jeremy, Mandy,  Brittany,  Jordan, and Justin and also remembered by their families.  

Predeceased by his parents Con and Betty Baechler.

Missed by brothers and sisters-in-law and fondly remembered by nieces and nephews and their families.

Darrell was born and grew up in Goderich. He was a worldly and well-travelled man, and had a very successful career as a corporate travel agent. He also had an entrepreneurial spirit, and had a very successful business as a tax agent.

Darrell was an avid movie fanatic and also loved live theatre. He was a big fan of music – notably the Beatles, P!nk and Chicago.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5th, 2026 from 1 - 4 PM at the Goderich Legion, 56 Kingston St, Goderich. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth.
