Obituary of Margaret Leota Hicks

After being lovingly cared for by her daughter, Margaret Leota (Machan) Hicks, with the love of her family in her heart, passed away at the age of 95 on August 20, 2026.

She was born in Listowel to Leslie and Violet (Heath) Machan on May 11, 1931.

Her High School years at St. Marys D.C.I. were special to her where she excelled in business and athletics. She was employed at the Public Utilities for several years before marrying Stanley (deceased) in 1951.

She is mourned by her daughter, Kim Lalonde and her family Jason (Cathy) and Katie (Matthew) and great-granddaughters Avery, Parker and Blake, son Gary (Celina) and their children Lucas (Krystal) and Clarissa (Kyle) and great-grandchildren Gwendolyn and Callan; Bruce (Catherine) and sons Benjamin and Nolan; Peter (Diane) and sons Scott (Allessandra) and Adam.

She is also survived by her best friend and soulmate, her sister, Helen (Arthur, deceased) Blakeley. She will be missed by loving nephews, a niece and her adopted sister.
