So sorry to hear the news of the passing of Aunt Georgina. Sandra and my thoughts are with uncle Larry and all of the family. We know her as such a soldier, fighting against challenging health for a long time. Always with a smile and such a positive outlook no matter what! She has left us now, but will no doubt solider on with other soldiers we’ve known in the past. Bless her and bless them all! We will miss her. As a small child I used to love visiting Aunt Georgina'a house. She was always smiling and cheerful. She would always bring us kids a tray with lemonade, and snacks while we watched cartoons. When we decided to go outside she would say, "have fun, but don't leave the yard" (I can still hear her saying it). The first thing Jon and I would do .....leave the yard. We would be gone for hours. When we'd return, she would sternly say, "I told you boys to stay in the yard.". Within about 15 seconds her warm smile would return and she'd fix us a snack. Years later, Jon and I would walk to their home after school. Aunt Georgina would often sit with me and ask me about my day. No matter what the story of the day was, or what shenanigans Jon and I got up to, she always responded in her own light and gentle way. She had a no nonsense approach to life. She didn't take much of anything too seriously and I always found that comforting. She was very much like a second mother to me. She loved her family very deeply. When I think of her, I can hear her laugh and I can see her smile. Through example she taught me to see the lightness even in the darkest of times. I take that lesson into this difficult and painful goodbye. Thank you for everything Aunt Georgina. We will always cherish our time together.
Sending my deepest condolences and strength to Uncle Larry, Jon, Alex, Tina, Aaron, Amanda, and Andrew. I know somewhere she is fixing Abby a grilled cheese and lemonade, and listening intently with a bright smile.
