Memorial Donations


HOW MEMORIAL DONATIONS ARE HANDLED
AT THE ANDREW L. HODGES FUNERAL HOME:


ONLINE OPTIONS:

On the person's page, click on “Donation” on an obituary. There will be an option of either donating online by credit card or by cheque. Select cheque and fill in your information, so that we can inform the family of your donation and then mail a cheque, made out to the charity,  directly to the charity. You may also use this feature to visit the charity’s own website to donate directly.

OVER THE PHONE

  1. Credit Card:
    ​    we can take a credit card donation over the phone, and later forward the funds to the charity. If the charity is registered, they will mail a tax receipt. We will also record who you want the donation from in order to inform the family. The Hodges Funeral Home covers the 2% fee from the credit card machine.
  2. Cheque:
    we will give you the mailing address of the charity for you to directly mail a cheque. We will record who you want the donation from in order to inform the family.

IN PERSON

Secure mailbox outside the funeral home, located at the door facing Wellington St.
Cheque donations can be dropped off at any time of day, any day of the week.
Please ensure the cheque is made payable to the correct charity and the memo line includes who the donation is in memory of.
If your cheque does not include your mailing address, please add a note with that information.

 

























If you are bringing in a donation by cash or wish to donate by credit or debit,
please always call ahead to the funeral home (519-284-2820) before stopping by to ensure we are available;
to accommodate different schedules, we are also also available by request on evenings, weekends and holidays.

If you are attending a visitation or funeral, regardless of where the visitation or funeral takes place, we can receive memorial donations.

We can accept donations by cash, cheque, debit card and credit card. The Hodges Funeral Home will cover the 2% fee from the credit card machine.

AS OF FEBRUARY 15, 2021

Another first for funeral homes: when donating by credit card in person, over the phone and now online, the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home will cover the credit card processing and online fee.  

We have always received memorial donations by cash or cheque. In 2012 we started to take memorial donations by credit and debit card, and since the funeral home website was launched in 2006 we took memorial donations online by credit card.
