St. Marys and Area Memorial Forest

The Memorial Forest began in 2009. It was created by the Upper Thames Conservation Authority, the St. Marys Ministerial Group and the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home to improve the local environment by reforestation and to create a lasting public memorial.

The site is located at the end of Line 13, along the watershed. Each spring, white spruce tress, approx  10 inches high, are planted to represent those commemorated through the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home.

At the end of each September, usually the last Sunday, there is a dedication service held at the Wildwood Conservation Area.

For those wishing to have trees planted in memory of loved ones who did not have funeral through the Hodges Funeral Home, they can be purchased through the Upper Thames Conservation Authority: https://www.thamesriverdonations.ca/memorial-forest-st-marys
