Obituary of Ray William Morrison

Ray William Morrison passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on March 17, 2020 in his 94th year.Ray is survived by his wife Pauline Morrison (Paton) of 67 years, brother Reg (Dorothy) and predeceased by brother Preston. Survived by sons Randy (predeceased daughter-in-law Marion), Dennis (Libby), Brian (Cherie), Ian and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Ray raised his family in the home he had built on Elgin Street and still resided since 1960. Ray loved fishing, hunting, horseracing, card playing and going to the cottage. He also raised chickens that he showed at local fairs, the CNE and won his fair share of ribbons. Ray began his career as a mechanic at Vanexan Moters and later was employed at Domtar as the Maintenance Supervisor. He loved to tinker with anything, take things apart, fixing it and then putting things back together. Ray was a lucky man, in 1955 he won a new car playing bingo in Lucan. Ray enjoyed Sunday church services where he was an usher and member of the St. Marys United Church.Cremation has taken place, Ray will later be laid to rest at Kirkton Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.Special thanks to Dr. Gatfield, staff at St. Marys Memorial Hospital and all the others that helped immensely.Ray was well known for his daily reciting of grace at the dinner table: “Give us grace O Lord to receive this food for the use of our bodies and lives for our service, Amen.”LIVES ARE SHORT, MEMORIES LAST FOREVER.
