Louise Dundas Matthews posted a condolence
I was one of those fortunate students privileged to have Mrs Mountain as my teacher at S.S.#9. As a 10 year old, I didn’t appreciate at the time what a positive influence she would have on my future education, career and preparedness for life in general. Over the years as I grew up, whenever I would go “home” for a visit and run into her often at the gym, the Pyramid Centre or the grocery store, she was always sincerely interested in my adventures. My Mom and I went to visit her a couple of years ago in her lovely apartment. It was such a delight to be served tea in a china cup and saucer and have an interesting conversation with a 100-year-old mentor! She had so many qualities that most of us can only aspire to poses; a role model indeed. My sincere condolences to you, her family and loved ones. She will always be Mrs Mountain to me. Sincerely Louise Dundas Matthews Yellowknife

Nancy McLeod posted a condolence
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Mountain family. You are all truly blessed to have had such an amazing matriarch as Margaret E. L. Mountain... It was wonderful to celebrate her 99th Birthday in St. Marys at the United Church a few years ago with her family, friends and colleagues. It was a great celebration. I attended Downie Central with David, Karen and Chantelle and I have many fond memories of their admirable Grandmother. I have no doubt that everyone remembers her grammar and math lessons. She was a fabulous teacher and a wonderful role model for many. Rest in Peace Mrs. M! XXX Sincerely, Nancy McLeod (Stadelmayer)

Many fond memories of your mother over the years. She has had a full life and you should cherish the many memories that you have. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Dave and Betty Ann Finnie

Mrs. Mountain was a dear sweet lady. Maurice enjoyed photographing Mountain weddings- everyone co-operated in getting all the pictures taken. Later I myself would pop into her room when she was in Wildwood retirement just to say "hello" as she wanted to join in our fitness classes when I was teaching when she was settled in more. Margaret will be missed by many and a goal for many to aspire to. She lived a full blessed life. Deepest condolences to the family circle.

Aunt Marg was such a lovely, strong woman who always welcomed you into their home with true affection. A beautiful table was always prepared with great care and an afternoon tea served with such grace. No matter how many dropped in, they were always welcomed and space found for them along with another homemade pie and goodies from the bottomless freezer . Aunt Marg was never shy of working diligently to achieve her goals. She was always honest and true to her values, an amazing woman who loved her family dearly. We will miss her greatly.
