Obituary of Dianne Smale

It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that we announce the passing of Dianne Smale on January 26th, 2021. Dianne passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Ken Smale for 43 years and wonderful mother to Jason (Clare), Alicia (Scott), Nicole and Kenneth Brent Smale. Her legacy also leaves six precious grandchildren; Sofia, Marcus, Jasmine, Jacob, Eden and baby Grace. Devoted daughter of Vera Kemp, and sister to Cliff (Connie), Wendy (Terry) Ridgway and Jim Bragg. She was predeceased by her father Earl Kemp and sister Carolyn Bragg. With her never-ending energy, Dianne worked as a nurse for 34 years at Hillside Nursing Home in Sebringville. She loved living at the picturesque Downiedale Farms where she and Ken raised their kids and dairy herd. Her love of travel inspired her second career as an attentive travel agent and she relished the opportunities to see the world. She enjoyed life, family members and friends and loved making everyone feel welcome at a party. Dianne was always there to brighten the lives of others. Campfires and sunsets in Grand Bend, walks, and hosting ‘Grandma and Grandpa camp’ were just a few of her favourite things. Memorial Service will be conducted at the ST. MARYS UNITED CHURCH, 85 Church St. S., St. Marys, on October 16 at 2 p.m. The maximum capacity of the church has now been reached.
