Obituary of Barry McCurdy

Barry McCurdy, owner and operator of B. McCurdy Trucking Inc. and life-long resident of St.Marys, ON died of cancer surrounded by his loved ones at the St.Marys Memorial Hospital on February 9th 2019.Barry is survived by his girls; Kimberly, Nicole, Hanna & Hailie McCurdy; His mother, Dorothy Glanville McCurdy; and his siblings Terry, Dianne & Randy. Barry was born in Exeter, ON on April 9th 1964 to Dorothy. Barry started at a young age working at the garage in Woodham, ON repairing forklifts, He was a proud holder of his AZ license by the age of 25, also obtaining his Truck & Coach Technician certification. On February 13th 1999 he married his wife Kimberly. On November 2nd 1998 and July 11th 2000 Barry welcomed his two beautiful daughters, who were the most important part of his life. Barry was a devoted father and a caring friend, He enjoyed working on miscellaneous projects and working long hours. He would often travel throughout the year with friends and he also enjoyed spending summer weekends on his boat in Bayfield, ON. Barry was a problem solver who often took on difficult and unwanted tasks by others. He was a hard worker and known for being one to always help others and always willing to teach others. Barry will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.Family and Friends are invited to the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys, on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 for visiting from 10 am. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Reception following at the St. Marys Legion, Br. 236, 66 Church St. N.
