Obituary of George W. Batch

George W. Batch, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on February 5, 2018 at the age of 85.Loving husband to Elsie (Berry), married on Nov. 27, 1954. Cherished Father of Lorraine McDonald and husband David, and Roger and wife Tracy. Grandfather of Christopher, Aaron, and Ethan. Predeceased by his father George Sr., his mother Gertrude, and sister Enna.Member of St. Marys Odd Fellows, helped with the construction of the St. Marys Memorial Hospital in 1950. George was a Master Tool and Die Maker. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, canoeing and bird watching. Later in life he took up oil painting and wood working. George’s family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Gatfield and the staffs at St. Marys Memorial Hospital and Kingsway Lodge for their wonderful care.Cremation has taken place.Family and friends are invited to the the ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 65 Church St. S., St. Marys, on Friday, March 2, 2018 for visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Private family interment in St. Marys Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Perth County.
