I met Janis when she was 10 when I was introduced to the family by her brother, Jim, whom I was dating and eventually married. Janis became a little "sister". We shared a special friendship over the many years since then. We shared many wonderful adventures, along with her other brother, John and super parents, Jill and Ray. We were fortunate to share summers at the lovely family cottage in St. Donat, QC. She and I were bridesmaids at each other's weddings. Janis had a very creative persona. She had a love for music, writing and singing her own compositions and was a member of an all girl rock band. She was a kind, loving soul and a human friend to the beloved family dog, Pokey. Both she and I moved around but never lost touch. She was very reserved, sometimes shy, but I know she loved her 2 nieces, Jennifer and Caroline. As I sit here remembering I can visualize happy Christmases in which we were all together, including my parents. In our child bearing years Janis had a sweet little boy, Christopher, a few years after my beloved daughters. Unfortunately, due to distance, Janis' great nieces, Kaitlyn & Claire, never really had the chance to get to know her but they heard her name and relationship to them during the many family get togethers. My own Dad had a nickname for Janis - Twiggy, after the 1960's super model. I miss her terribly and she will always have a place in my heart. Janis, I believe you are at peace, away from your pain, in God's House. With love, Your sister-in-law, Susan.
