Obituary of May McCall
May N. McCall, passed away at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on October 12, 2016 at the age of 82.Beloved wife of the late Malcolm “Mac” B. McCall (August 5, 1991) whom she married on August 8, 1953 at Lakeside United Church. Daughter of the late Clarence M. and Nettie (Vannatter) Cole. Survived by her brother Kenneth M. Cole of St. Marys and sister-in-law Betty McCall of London. Pre-deceased by sisters-in-law Betty M. Cole, Dorothy McCall, Sarah Ann McCall and Madeline McKenzie; brothers-in-law Gordon, Raymond and Verne McCall and John McKenzie.Survived by several nieces and nephews: Judy Sutherland (Murray), Carolyn Uniac (Mike), Jim Cole (Sandy), Christine Rollins (Nelson), Jeffrey Cole (Corinne), Linda Weise, Karen Bransewetter (Werner), Carol Martin (George), Elizabeth Smith (Ross), David McCall, Margaret McKenzie and Debbie McCall.May lived in Thamesford, Edmonton, Alberta; Ottawa, Metz, France; Belleville and Windsor due to Mac’s RCAF career. She worked at London Life Insurance Co., London; Hudson’s Bay, Edmonton; N.R.C., Ottawa; Loyalist College, Belleville and St. Clair College, Windsor before retiring from the Registration Office. St. Marys was always considered home after May and Mac purchased a house there in 1968 and in which her mother, Nettie Cole, resided until her death in 1992. May was a dedicated member the St. Marys Royal Canadian Legion Branch 236 and the St. Marys Presbyterian Church.The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 236 will conduct a service at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. with visiting following until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gwen Ament officiating. Interment in Kintore Presbyterian Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation, St. Marys Presbyterian Church or to a charity of choice.
