Obituary of Robert Charles Lang

Robert “Bob” Charles Lang, born April 19, 1935, died on June 6, 2017 with his family at his side at Wildwood Care Centre in St. Marys at the age of 82.Beloved husband of Joan (Ballantyne) Lang of 62 years. Dear father of Cheryl (Ken) Firby and their children Lana (David) Foulds, Jason (Tara) Firby, Daniel (Michele) Smith, Angela (Carl) Anson; Terrance (Colleen) and their children Marshall (Kelsey) and Shannon; Glen (Laurel) and their children Gregg and Carly (Jon) Moles; Lori (Tom) Robson and their children Caileigh, Andrea (Padraic) Moynihan, Garrett (Mikaela) and Sean; Kathryn (Andrew) Rivett and their children Kate (Matt) and Jessica (Jed) Jefferson; Janice (James) Blewett and their children Nicole and Emily (Travis); David (Cindy) and their children Hilary (John McAllister), Trenton, Emmett, Sawyer and Seth. Bob’s extended family also includes 16 great-grandchildren. Bob was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Neeve) Lang. He is survived by one brother, Gary (Lorna), one sister-in-law, Nadine, two brothers-in-law David (Mary) Ballantyne and Donald (Merceno) Ballantyne.Bob was predeceased by brothers Jack and Harold and sisters-in-law Peggy Ballantyne and Betty Lang.Bob “Gunner” was employed for 38 years at the St. Marys Cement Plant and loved his family, gardening and birds.Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Sunday, June 11, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. The Memorial Service will be conducted at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 65 Church St. South, St. Marys, on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception in the church hall, followed by interment in St. Marys Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the St. James Anglican Church or -Golden Years- Wildwood Care Centre.
