Ron Turpin posted a condolence
Helen & Family, I was a Civil Engineering Technology student of John's at Fanshawe College during the late 1970s. What he taught me was very practical & useful in my career after graduation. He even stopped by to visit me one day on a construction site to see how I was doing. I valued his classes at Fanshawe and remembered him with appreciation on a number of occasions throughout my career. John was one of those people who come into our lives (sometimes for just a short period) but who have a big & positive influence. I am sorry for your loss. Ron Turpin

Linda Manchen posted a condolence
Dear Helen, Although I haven't really spent much time with you since high school, I have been fortunate to run into you often when in town. Sometimes I saw John too and not too long ago when we were both at Cancer Clinic in London. I was very sorry to read that John had passed away and I send you my deepest sympathy. Wonderful memories of your many happy years together will eventually overtake the grief you must feel right now. Affectionately, Linda (Irvine) Manchen

Helen, Bob, Brian, Gracie Anne, Emma Marie, Keith, Dianne, Jane and Brent: We were so very sorry to hear about John's passing. He fought a long and hard battle. Mom and Dad continued to keep us informed of his health. It sounds like Dad and Uncle Will had a great visit with John a couple of days before he passed. I know this means a lot to them and they will hold on to this memory as well as so many wonderful memories of a shared childhood. Our deepest condolences on your loss. With love, Jennifer, Kyle, Quinn and Kieran Palmer
