Sue and Hirasawa Family: Even though Johnny's health had been deteriorating over the past few years, I was shocked to hear that he had passed so suddenly on Monday. I was certain that he would recover from his recent hip surgery and continue to be with us for a much longer time. I have many fond memories of the times we shared at family gatherings and the fun we had playing cards (for money of course). I first met Johnny when he was dating Sue in Chatham and have countless memories of the great times we shared over 60 years. I will remember the many talks we had about financial matters, his love for the New York Yankees and his passion for gambling at casinos. His warm personality, friendly laughter and candid opinion on many topics were the foundation for the enduring relationship that we shared. But I believe in the past few years he was looking forward to reconnecting with his family members who had predeceased him. I am sure he has already visited the Pearly Gates Casino in heaven which is reserved for those who made life better for all of those who knew him during his time on earth. I will miss him greatly but am comforted knowing that he is happy to be in a better place now.

Sue & Family: I was so sorry to hear about John's passing. He worked with my Mom (Fern Hogg) as a chick sexer at Hy-Line Chicks & I have enjoyed many chats with him since then. I will miss seeing him on the lawn mower when I walk by. He always had a smile & a wave. Thinking of you at this time. Take care.
