Obituary of Gilbert Webb Esson

It is with heavy hearts we share that Gil passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, on Friday, May 7, 2021 in his 79th year. Gil will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Sharone (Elliott), his daughters Corrie (Bob Jauniaux) and Shelley (Reid Dundas). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tristan (Nicole), Megan (Sandor), Brittany (Michael), Hailey, Trent, Riley (Jay), Jensen (Eric), Ashly (Camilo), and Claire, and his great grandson Rowan. Also loved dearly by Teri Wuytenburg (Dick), his Aunts Lois Sweeney and Doris Webb, and several cousins. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Cora, and his granddaughter Ainsley (1995). He is once again reunited with his son, Mike (2001), and we wish them happy trails together. Gil was a long-time employee of St. Marys Cement where he formed lifetime friends. Through the years he always treasured his special friendships with his “Cowboys” and their times together both in and out of the saddle. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by Dr. Rachael Berta, Heart Failure specialists, and the kind support of the LHIN team, especially Alicia, Sherry, Will and Adeline. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Marys Healthcare Foundation.A private graveside service was held in St. Marys Cemetery. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
