Douglas and Dianne Martin posted a condolence
Paul, Lois, Jim, Steve and families, Please accept our heart felt sympathies in the passing of your wife and mother. I awoke this morning reflecting again on my memories of her. My memories range from my early childhood when I was blessed to have her as my Crusader prayer partner to my last conversation with her at Anna Mae's restaurant two years ago when I was home for a visit. We had not arranged to be their together but I am so thankful God had arranged it for us. That conversation typified Shirley, she wanted to know all about my family and how they were doing and she beamed when she shared updates about all of you. She was always smiling and always had kind words of encouragement. Our families share a special connection and I very thankful for this. When I close my eyes I can see her and mom playing together, Shirley on the organ mom on the piano as they did most Sunday's for years at Bethel. I will always remember one special Sunday night for me, mom and Shirley were playing during the alter call the night I surrendered my life to Christ. Now she is in heaven, reuniting with family and special friends who went there before her but most precious of all will be meeting Jesus, her Saviour, May you allow His peace to comfort you in your grief and look forward to the day you will see her again and I will do the same.

Paul, Jim, Lois, Steve and families, Please accept our deepest condolences to you all. I fondly remember Shirley playing the organ on Sunday morning and evenings, along with my mom. Shirley was my prayer partner in Crusaders and I feel so blessed to have been connected with her in this way. Shirley always deflected any praise directed towards her and she was truly one of the most humblest of women of which i'm aware and my life is richer because of her influence in it. As I listen to her playing the piano even as i type this, I imagine her now worshipping and praising Jesus, pain free!.. along with Grandpa and Grandma Crits, my mom, Aunt Donna and Scott. What a reunion that must be! May you find comfort in the Lord and with each other.

Denise (Martin) and Bill Major posted a condolence
Paul, Jim, Lois, Steve, and families, Please accept our deepest condolences to each of you. So many memories have come flooding back since hearing of her passing, mostly connected through church and family. There wouldn't have been an M-G-M (Martin-Gerber-Mullenix) without the Mullenix's! Many memories of gatherings in Mitchell and Stratford, both for church and family, come to mind. Shirley was Prayer Pal to all three of us Martin kids, and I know she has continued praying for us daily. You can't think of Shirley without thinking and hearing music: they are synonymous! I've been enjoying listening to her CD on this page so much. Growing up, I especially loved Sunday evening services where Shirley played the organ and Mom played the piano...they played so well together, and I know they enjoyed those special times, too! Dear Paul, Helen, Frank and their family members, What a blessing to know that Shirley is now in the presence of our Lord, rejoicing and praising Him and free of all pain. No doubt she is giggling in delight, as she was so fond of doing on earth. How wonderful it is to have this CD so that we can still hear her praising Him on the piano. May those who have received God's amazing gift of eternal life find great comfort in knowing that they will someday be reunited with her. As you mourn your present separation from her, may you find comfort in remembering the many happy and joyful times which you spent with her.

Dear Paul and the entire family circle my deepest sympathy in the passing of Shirley. What a wonderful person she was, always willing and able to help out with anything. She was tops in her talent with music. She was only too pleased to play the piano at our 2005 All Years High School Reunion Sunday morning Church Service when I asked her. We had a "packed" house. She will be missed and what a great idea to have her Gospel CD playing now. With much Love, Nelda Mossip-Oliver
