Joanne I enjoyed our conversation on Tues. It was a pleasure sitting with your Mom @ the back of the church (Thamesview) every once in awhile. In times like this there is little that can be said to ease the pain and loss you and your family feel; but be assured that thoughts and prayers are with you all in your time of sorrow. May God Bless You All and Keep You in His Care. Sincerely, Laurel Laughton

Wendy Aitken posted a condolence
To Marybel's family: When I think of Marybel, I think of "engaged in life". From seeing her striding along with her walking poles (a few years back) , to visiting with her at Horticulture meetings (last year), to seeing her "push through" in exercise classes at the Friendship Centre (not long ago), she was a going concern. Indeed, so many interests kept her youthful. My condolences on her passing... Wendy Aitken

My sincere condolances to all the Edye family. I thank Mrs. Edye for my spelling and grammar skills taught in our one room school, S.S.# 13 Blanshard (Woodham). In more recent years I enjoyed meeting her at horticulture meetings, Shriner Ladies Nights and out and about in St. Marys which always resulted in an interesting chat. I think of her loving colour, just like in her gardens. Warm thoughts to you all in your sorrow and may your memories bring you comfort. Doris Richardson

My sympathies to her family. I was one of her History students back in the 1970s. Her smile and gentle kindness would encourage you to do your best! You just knew that she loved what she taught. I remember her distinct handwriting. In later years, I would see her and say hello. It saddens me to hear of her death, but I know that we stand on the shoulders of giants! Their memory is eternal! As her former student, Mrs. Edye will live on in my heart and mind as one who inspired and expected excellence. She is a giant in the St. Marys community. Rest in peace, Mrs. Edye!

Marty Bond posted a condolence
I knew Marybel only as an RTO member. She was always a supporter, attending our events regularly. In recent times we had many laughs over her double registrations and payments for a dinner; one always came very early and the other much later when she had forgotten that she was already included. Our welcome of members at each meal and meeting was never complete until we had seen her smiling face and laughter as she brought in the “troop” from St. Marys.

Dear Edye Family, Our sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. What a lovely, friendly and vibrant lady she was. Never did she fail to welcome you with a warm smile and hello. While I didn't know her really very well, I feel that I truly know her through all of you. You are all full of life and energy and I believe that is what she too was. You were all very fortunate to have her in your life. I will miss seeing her when visiting my aunt at the Kingsway, as I often saw your mom there on her way to visit a friend or acquaintance. St.Marys has lost another great one.
