Obituary of Joel Herbert Sands

Joel Herbert Sands passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on January 9, 2018 in his 78th year.Beloved husband of 51 years to Kay (Nutt). Father of Brenda Lee Feeney (Brian), Shelley Kittmer (Mark) and Tom Sands. Papa to Joseph Feeney, Brienna Lee Feeney, Catelyn Kittmer, Josh Kittmer (Allie), Brandon Kittmer (Stacy), Madison Kittmer and great-grand father of Kaiden Kittmer. Brother of Wayne Sands, the late Brian Sands, Gary Sands (Donna), Valerie Parrett (Mark) and brother-in-law of Margaret Pennacchietti, Ann Goodhew, Carol Nutt, Lena Murdoch, Cynthia Nutt and Sidney Tucker. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.Predeceased by Betty and Archie Edwards, Helen Tucker (Harold Forster), Hannah and Bob Vanstone, Jack Pennachietti, Art Nutt, Ken Murdoch, Robert (Joe) Nutt, and John Goodhew.Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys, on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 for visiting from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Interment at a later date.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
