Obituary of Jack Nairn
John Nairn, known to friends as “Jack,” passed away on December 1, 2020 at the age of 77 years.Lifelong resident of RR #1 St. Marys, with the exception of three years in the Eastern Hockey League in Greensboro, North Carolina. Jack was well respected and well known in the hockey community with a consecutive championship hockey career. He spent many happy years with his boys raising mink on the ranch.Jack was a loving and very caring husband of 53 years to his wife Gail. He was loved by his children, the late Dan (2013) and Greg (2010) and Brent (Sarah) Nairn. One of Jack’s joys was his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by Jordan, Drayson (2015), Jonny, Justin and great granddaughter Nevaeh. He will be fondly remembered by Elizabeth (Bob, deceased Don, deceased) Garrett, Susan (Bev) Curran and Peter (Liz) Cunningham. Jack was predeceased by his brothers Don (Joyce), Jim (Marilyn) and his sister Barbara (Doug) Jeffery. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary Nairn and son-in-law of the late Gladys and Bob Cunningham. Jack will be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.There will be a private family service.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the memory of John “Jack” Nairn may be made to the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation, St. Marys Minor Hockey or the Siloam United Church.A celebration of life will be held and announced when gathering restrictions are lifted.
