My sympathy to the Semple family as you mourn the passing of your mother and grandmother. May you experience God's love enfolding you at this time. For many years Frances joined our family for our Christmas meal. Many years ago she made a beautiful wreath which told in symbols the reasons for Christ's coming to earth and presented it to us at this time. I still put the wreath up and sometimes leave it up for a good portion of the year. I am sure you remember her as a very determined woman. A good example of this involved me. She kept persisting that I should join the Horticultural Board as they badly needed younger members. One year I finally gave in to her. As a result of this I was a board member for about 25 years| It was always a joy to see her beautiful backyard when she lived on Huron Street and then, after she moved to apartment settings, her totally amazing ability to create an utopian experience through dozens and dozens of pots. It was amazing how many of her collections could be displayed in her small apartments. A good example of this was her doll collection. She derived such pleasure from creating new and elaborate outfits for each of them. So it was too with her jewelry creations Her love of music added another dimension to her interests. What an inspiration she was!
