Obituary of Kenneth John McKay
After a long courageous battle with complex medical challenges and hardships, Kenneth John McKay passed away peacefully at his home at Mapleview Terrace in London on April 16, 2021. We are sure he is being welcomed in Heaven by his daughter Shauna (November 17, 1993), his granddaughter Charlotte (April 22, 2015), and his father John Calvin McKay (Dec 16, 2011). Survived by his three loving children, Calvin (Amber), Madison (Tanner), and Kennedy (Ben), his grandchildren Noelle and Maverick, his Mother (Dorothy Ann McKay), Uncle (Donald Shaver) and Aunt (Helen Olauson). Loving brother to Teri Shackleton (Brent), Heather Bardoel (Ron), Lisa Clark(Les). Uncle to Taylor, Erin, & Andrew Shackleton, Hillary & Courtney Bardoel, Rachel & Alison Clark. Dear friend of Tammy & Henry Fluttert.Ken will be remembered for his passion and success with his grandfather Calvin McKay’s Holstein dairy herd and for his love for his children and grandchildren. He touched the lives of everyone he met, including the health care heroes who witnessed his daily struggles and provided first class compassionate care, going above and beyond to help Ken. Thank you to Dr. Sara Haig, the St. Joseph’s Rheumatology staff, Sara Renouf, Sherri McRobert, and Melissa, Olive and the other Mapleview and Paramed staff.Cremation to take place with a private family burial at a later date.Memorial donations can be made to the Kintore Optimist Club, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation –Rheumatology Program, London Health Sciences Foundation – Emergency Department.
