Obituary of Joan L. Dakin

Joan L. Dakin (McLean) passed away at her home in St. Marys, with her family at her side, on Dec. 6, 2016 at the age of 60.Loving wife of George Dakin, sharing 31 years together. Beloved mother of Mark Ezekiel, Josh Ezekiel (Matty), Shawn Dakin (Carrie), and Julie Eddy (Steve). Proud grandmother of Lukas, Hayden, Jeremy, Dorian, and Kyla. Daughter of Erma McLean and the late Bruce McLean (2013). Sister of Sharron (Chris Bannerman), Linda (Max Muir), Donna (Murray Barber), Ron McLean (Joanne), Suzy McLean (Kevin) and sister-in-law of Brenda (Tom Browne). Devoted friend of Cheryl Hemming. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews.She will be missed by her friends at Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys, where she worked for ten years as the hairdresser. She touched the lives of so many and will be remembered always.Cremation has taken place. An Open House Memorial Visitation will take place at the QUEENS INN AT STRATFORD, 161 Ontario St. Stratford, on Saturday Dec. 10, 2016 from 2 – 5 p.m. A private family burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery.Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
