Kit was a real Belle. A ringer in my early life, on my own, coming home to Town to work. My Mother told me a single man living on his own should have two things; A cat, and a housekeeper. She would wink; “Guys will never keep the bathroom, or the kitchen clean enough. The cat will give you a warm welcome when you come home from work.” Kit came first, later the cat; Kit - Cat. For seven bachelor years Kit came every week, always in time for a little Cat-ch-up. She got a little tip on what’s newsy in the paper, and more interesting, I might add something that wasn’t for printing ... Kit Bell will always be part of my great household memories. Never got another cat.
