Obituary of Casey Cornelis Van Den Berge

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Casey (Cornelis) Van Den Berge, Born July 20, 1951 in Middleburg, Holland. Casey passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, April 15th, at home in Petrolia, Ontario.Casey immigrated to Canada with his family in 1957. Casey will be lovingly remembered by his spouse Mary Ellen (Johnson) of 41 years, daughters Sara Rehlinger & spouse Bryan of St. Thomas; Rebecca Bishop & spouse Andy of Thorndale; Christina Laprade & partner Ben Thistle of Stratford and Katelyn Bender & spouse Shaun of Petrolia. Grandchildren Taylor, Jaime, Victoria, Alex, Adam, Synthia, Elizabeth, Solstice, Sarina, William & Hazel. Great Grandson Kyrn. Parents Maartje and Cor (2015) Van Den Berge of London. Siblings Hendrik (Henry) & spouse Pauline of London, Jan (John) (1996), Marinus (Rick) & spouse Karen of Michigan, Adriaan (2016), Nellie Van Den Berge of London, Eduard (Ed) & spouse Sue of London & William (Bill) & spouse Jillian of Nova Scotia. Sisters-in-law Carol (Jim) Betteridge & Betty (Mark) Bodenham all of St. Marys. Many other nieces and nephews.Casey spent most of his career in the car business until he found real pleasure in doing house renovations. Casey’s true passion is well known by his keeping immaculate gardens and weedless lawns. He had the Dutch touch which went right along with being a stubborn Dutchman. Casey was a hard worker and felt the importance of providing for his family. Casey will forever be in our hearts.Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
