Florence Elsie Ball (nee Poste) July 2, 1933 – Nov. 2, 2018, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, ON in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Willis Adrian Ball (2012).Loving mother of Stanley (Barbara Stengel) Ball, Norman (Cheryl) Ball, Susan (John A.) Sutherland, and Kenneth (Lynne Roberts) Ball. Proud Grandma of four grand-daughters, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandson, and seven step-great-grandchildren. Youngest sister of Mary (late Robert) Kernohan, Margaret (Ronald) Gregor, Lawrence (Helen) Poste, David (Ruth). Predeceased by her siblings, James (Betty and Dennis Hemsworth), John (Muriel), Kenneth (Etta) Poste, Ronald (Amy), Dorothy (William) Box, Beverly (survived by Marie). Remembered by late Stuart (Eleanor) Ball, late Bruce (Gladys) Ball, and Verna (late Bruce) Lupton. Lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.Florence was a valued member of Lakeside United Church, UCW, Lakeside Women’s Institute, and the surrounding community. She was known for hosting over 600 guests from all over the world, through the Ontario Farm Vacation Association for several years, and for hosting 25 years of the Poste Family Reunions on Boxing Day. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and baking treats for her family.Many thanks goes to the staff of Wildwood Care Centre, the nurses and staff at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, and special thanks to Dr. Fred Jewson and Dr. Charles Gatfield, for their many years of heartfelt care and concern.Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys (519-284-2820) for visitation on Thursday, Nov 8 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Celebration of Life services will take place at the ST. MARYS UNITED CHURCH (85 Church St. S. St. Marys) on Nov. 9, 2018 at 2 pm. with Rev. Dr. Pirie Mitchell and Rev. Kathi Urbasik-Hindley officiating. Interment to follow at Zorra Townline Cemetery.If desired, memorial donations will be accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Mission and Service Fund United Church of Canada or the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
