Obituary of Rosemary Casler
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemary Casler, at the age of 70, on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Kingsway Lodge in St. Marys.
She came to Kingsway Lodge in March of 2018, but previously lived in London, Ont. since she was a teenager. Rosemary was born and raised in Burgessville, Ont. She was a tomboy growing up and her favourite outfit was a t-shirt and jeans, no makeup, dresses or high heels for her.
She loved sports and played baseball, darts and she loved bowling. She also loved camping, yes as in sleeping in a tent and cooking over a campfire. Rosemary was a true-blue Blue Jays and Maple Leaf fan and one of the highlights of her life was when her brother Larry took her to a Blue Jays game in Toronto.
She loved music; especially old-time country, singers like Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty to name a few. Her most favourite singers was Anne Murray, but we learned at Kingsway that she knew the words to almost every song that was sung there during the music programs.
Rosie had a wonderful sense of humour and her infectious laugh was heard all throughout the 2nd floor or wherever she was.
When she was young, she worked for a short period of time for Goodwill Industries but could not continue due to the health issues she had.
Although Rosie was never married, she was engaged twice and therefore did enjoy some romance in her life. She loved animals and always had a pet cat at home.
Rosie is predeceased by her parents Jean (2011) and Wilbur Casler (1979), brothers Tom and Bob and sisters Joan and Edith. Survived by sisters Francis Casler, Barb McCabe, Donna Lavoie and Sandra Holden, brothers Dave, Bill and Larry Casler and by several nieces and nephews.
Words are not enough to show the appreciation for the love and care that was given to Rosie during her stay at Kingsway Lodge. She will certainly leave a lasting impression on anyone who knew her. Cremation to take place.
