Obituary of Aleck Smith

Aleck Smith, age 76, died suddenly on September 20, 2021 doing what he loved. Survived by his wife June and his daughter Gwen (Jamie Nairn). Remembered fondly by his grandchildren Shawn (Jenna), Tyler, and Ann Marie (Walter Brook). Also survived by sisters Judy (Jack McElvanney), Linda (Les Fleming), sister-in-law Nancy Smith, brothers-in-law Don and Bev Bragg, and Doug and Lois Bragg. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Predeceased by his wife Hazel (Bragg), son Aleck Jr., parents Bill and Scotty Smith, brothers Angus and Eric, in-laws Leonard and Vera Bragg, and sister-in-law Eva Bragg. Aleck was a hard worker and friend to many. He was very passionate about all his collections, refurbishing his wonderful John Deere collection and sharing it with others. Known for travelling far and wide for the “right part,” and willing to help anyone and share his knowledge. He was a member of several tractor clubs. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held at the KIRKTON WOODHAM HALL, 70497 Rd. 164, Kirkton, on October 3, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm.
