Jackie, I would simply like to say Thank You... thank you for your smile, your laughter, your humor, and your free spirit, but most of all thank you for being a part of my life. Save me a front row seat to watch you on heavens stage. Your friend Judi/Nail Effects

Our deepest condolences to the famiy of Jackie, our former neighbour. A warm, talented lady with a tremendous sense of humour. So many memories of laughter with her on our mutual garden experiences on particularly very windy days on Thamesview and once when her bar-b-que and chairs blew on to the empty lot next door. Her stories of her travels were always entertaining, especially when she rode a camel in Egypt. A great actress as well, we often recall her performance in Cabaret. Someone we will always remember with fondness.

Jackie, my friend. We met so many years ago when you and Neville started up your bed and breakfast on Church Street. Then we got to know each other much better when I joined the SMCP and did props for several of the plays you you were in. Your laugh was contagious and your advice priceless. You made my first foray into the theatre world so memorable as you sang to the “pineapple” in Cabaret. I can say with pride that I had the distinct pleasure of choosing that pineapple for you along with the “understudy pineapple”, when the first one became a smidge too ripe. Rest easy now my friend.

Dear Jackie, you have been part of my dreams of traveling with joy, elegance, energy, care, kindness, intelligence and cheer. It will be impossible to forget how much fun we had together on those probably more than a dozen trips all over the world done in a few years. I was honoured to be a small part of your life, shared with you most loved members of my family and friends in Argentina, Italy and Canada. See you soon.

Oh Jackie, you were special!
I met Jackie through SMCP. I was new to acting and stage direction, but Jackie understood and would say things quietly to me like “don’t listen to them, they don’t know what they are talking about” lol
She could always make us laugh. Jackie’s smile, so welcoming. She gave great wisdom and insights. She was strong and supportive.
Thank you Jackie for all you were to me and to our small community theatre.
Much love, from Fern

We got to know Jackie when my son Maddox, who was 12 at the time, was in Cabaret with Perth Community Players. She took a shine to Maddox and he to her. She jokingly referred to herself as Maddox’s “mean Grandma”. :). Her energy and love of life was evident and she was a bright light to those around her. Condolences to her friends and family.

Jackie had the greatest laugh! It was one of those that came from deep down in the belly and with so much heart. Rest in peace my friend, Heaven just got a lot more fun!

Pink Roses. Jackie loved them. And I feel she was a lot like them. She was strong and resilient, thorny and stubborn. Sometimes as delicate and fragile as the softest petal. She could shock you with her magnificence. And of course she LOVED pink :-D
Jackie was always generous with her time and her wisdom. Her life's journey was often a challenging one but she always kept her chin up and her pride intact. Humour was her saving grace and she shared it shamelessly. In several decades we laughed and cried, we were each other's +1 for theatre events and concerts, we agreed to disagree (well, I did anyway ;~]) and I absolutely loved it when she swore, especially in French! I have never met a better story teller (she sure had some doozies!) or a more fabulous comedienne. She was delightful in her element and could tap dance circles around me even at 80. I have been honored to call Jackie my friend. I will miss her giggles and her support and that oh-so-special smile. Jackie, wherever you may be... give 'em hell and make 'em laugh like you know you can. I will see you in every pink rose I pass my friend...

Sending our deepest sympathy to all of Jackie’s famiy! We enjoyed our visits with Jackie while we worked on her vehicle. She always came in with a huge smile and lots of stories and laughter! She looked way up to Big Dave with a twinkle in her eye! We were all so sad to hear she had taken ill and she shared that with us. What a wonderful collection of photos of her past vacations you have to cherish! So enjoyed going through the chosen ones. She truly will be thought of and missed. Big hugs from Dave and Betty Versteegh and our staff

To Jackie's Children, Grandchildren and Friends: I was privileged to count Jackie as one of my friends for over 30 years, mostly through both of our acting, singing, dancing, and in Jackie's case, directing, in the St. Marys Community Players. She and her husband, Charlie were a talented team, to be sure, with Charlie's brilliance as a lighting, sound and set tech wizard lending his phenomenal experience working at the CBC, which enhanced every play they were involved in. Jackie was a wonderful performer in any production she was in, but more importantly, she worked to enhance the performance of others she worked with, endearing herself with her sense of fun, devotion, humility, compassion, and giving out helpful hints to others along the way, including us all in her circle. So many performances on the SCMP stage were enhanced by Jackie's shining and presence throughout the years. She was a gracious host as well, either at the beautiful Church Street residence that she and Charlie kept, and her lovely home off of Emily Street. I console myself with the idea that Jackie is now back with her Charlie, both free of pain. May you all be comforted at this difficult time with the loving memories of time spent with Jackie. She was a lovely lady inside and out and consummate performer. I will miss her while I treasure my times with her.

Your dear Mom was a tremendous inspiration to her beloved Festival Sounds Chorus. She showed us on several occasions exactly what entertainment is all about. Her experiences on this earth will be welcomed in heaven by Jesus with open arms. I will miss singing bass with this amazing lady who never stopped being a hard working, nutty and brutally honest character. Jackie's mold was broken at birth because the world would never be ready for two of her. Rest in peace dear sister singer! Love Anne

It is impossible to find the words to express our feelings of loss. Jackie was always full of super human energy and had the biggest heart. So many memories of our families doing pot luck dinners, battling floods in Jackie's basement, watching kittens being born, building sets for Lyric Theatre in the driveway, playing ping pong, ouija board sessions, working together at George's, seeing Jackie and Charlie say their vows and learning new and interesting words when Jackie told a new joke. Jackie was a single mom before that became a thing. She worked tirelessly to complete her higher education and master French and she was the epitome of a modern woman. When we miss her we will think of her strong and infectious laugh. Jackie, We know that wherever you are you could run the place better, but try and rest and just enjoy the ride. Godspeed! Love you always, Lisa, Bryanna, Bob and Isabella.
