James Howard Siddall

Feb 13, 1931 – October 14, 2021

 

Passed away peacefully Thursday October 14, 2021 in his 91st year. 

 

Dear husband, best friend, soulmate of Rose Tew Siddall (Fletcher) for 67 plus years.  Loving father of Cathy and Mike Stead, Deb and Bruce Hodge and Jim and Valerie Siddall.  

 

Proud Grandpa of 7 grandchildren Sheri and Sevy Van Bolhuis, Kelli and Scott Rathwell, Sarah Groot, Krista and Adam McCann, Jamie Hodge and Niki Hunter, Joey Siddall and Becca Gagnon, Michael Siddall and Ellen Westelaken.   Proud Grandpa to 12 great grandchildren Tucker, Griffin, Anna, Reegan; Molly, Henry, Hazel; Landen, Jordyn, Brittany; Hayden and Dillyn.

 

Fondly remembered by several special nieces and nephews.

 

Survived by his sister Florence (Teada) Campbell, brother Dave and Betty Siddall and sister-in-law Dorothy Siddall; brother-in-laws Walter Fletcher and John and Elma Fletcher.  

 

Pre-deceased by his parents Leroy and Sara Siddall; sister Mary and Stanley (Tye) Burgess; brothers George and Betty; Jack; Shipley and Bernice; Bill and Florence; and brother-in-law Jack Campbell.  Pre-deceased by in-laws Arthur and Rose Fletcher; Edith and Robert McCormick; and Katherine Fletcher.

 

Jim spent his career as the proud owner/operator of Jim Siddall Trucking.  After retiring, he enjoyed his social involvement in Church and Community activities, especially euchre.  He proudly followed and supported all of his grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals and school programs.  He was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.  

 

He spent many happy years with the special Plugtown neighbors as well as taking care of his beautiful property.  In 2014, they quickly settled in to their new community on Oliver Lane in St Marys forming many new friendships.  

 

Thank you to the exceptional medical staff and care given at the St Marys Memorial Hospital and the Stratford General Hospital over the past couple of months.  

Special thanks to Dr. Gatfield and the Happy Valley Health team.  Your care and compassion over the years is greatly appreciated.  

 

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family Interment will be at the St. Pauls Anglican Cemetery, Kirkton.   A funeral service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at the Kirkton Woodham Community Centre, 70497 Rd 164, Kirkton.on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1 p.m.Those wishing to attend, please RSVP with the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home. Because there will be food and drink at the hall, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test 48 hours prior is required.
