I am very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. In the few short years that my family lived in St. Marys and attended St. Jame's I remember Ron as encouraging and supportive of my young musical ambitions. A visit to his home to play music was a highlight of my youth.

I have so many fond memories of time spent with Ron. If not for him, my musical career might have ended when our family band disbanded. Dear Ann, Coralee and family Our most sincere condolences on Ron's passing. He was such a great friend to our father Jim and the two of them loved performing together, Ron adjusting his piano playing to Dad's tempo.....which fluctuated greatly some times! We were so delighted to find a recording of Irish songs and ballads the two of them made years ago probably at your house. A real treasure for our family both here in Canada and Ireland and for that we are forever grateful to Ron. Ron was one of several gentlemen of immense musical talent, including Jimmie Walsh, Bill Boddenham, who were part of the congregation of St. James Anglican Church that I was privileged to grow up knowing over the years, especially at the St. Patrick's Day, Christmas and Easter suppers the church hosted. It was a honor to sing accompanied by Ron at the piano at various church, Kingsway and Wildwood functions. Ron had such a knowledge of music in his head that he instinctively knew which level I was going to sing at and could follow with ease, even with no previous practice. My father, who also played with much of his music in his head, not following sheet music, had much respect for Ron's talent to play "by ear" and read music too. Ron was a "pillar" of St. James Anglican with his deep faith and love of tradition, his own family and the church family. Ron's dedication, great sense of humor, love of music will be missed by many of us. To Ann, Coralee, grandchildren, the rest of Ron's family and friends, may your loving memories of time spent with Ron comfort and sustain you during this difficult time.
