To Phyllis' family (Twyla, Jim and all)
I'm so sorry to hear of your mum's death. What a wonderful and full life she enjoyed.
In recent years, we met often, either on Elizabeth Street or along the path through the park, as she dutifully walked her daily walks and I dutifully walked my dog! She was so content in her life, wasn't she? And determined to live it as healthily and fully as possible. I so respected her commitment to her ongoing health and independence.
I've no doubt she will be sorely missed by her loving family.
With sincere sympathy
Betty Finnie

My sympathy to all of Phyllis’ family. We not only shared the same first name but also singing alto in the St. Marys Presbyterian Church choir. She told me she joined the choir because she felt sorry for me being the only alto. She was a welcome addition. She was full of life and I am happy to have known her.

A visit to the Sheldon farm invariably consisted of a great deal of fun and laughter (the odd chore) and of course, a piece of pie or sweet treat lovingly prepared by Phyllis. I thought of Phyllis as Mother #2 and she, like a mother hen with her chicks, always welcomed me into her home. Later in life, when visiting my father, Grace and I would often meet and chat with her at The Golden Pond restaurant as we had the traditional "liver lunch". She would proudly keep us up to date on all of her family spread out over the continent. It was a privilege to have known you, Phyllis.
Grace and I send our condolences to all of the family.
