Obituary of Kenneth Dwight Cole

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Kenneth “Ken” Dwight Cole announce his passing peacefully at home on Nov. 21, 2022 at the age of 66.

Husband of Marg, married 42 years. Father of Darcy Robertson (Sonya), Curtis Cole (Janice) and Kelsey Sutherland (Ian). Papa of Shayne, Halley, Brayden, Trenton, Ada, Clara and Easton. Brother-in-law of David Wegg (Louise), Maxine Henshaw (Bert), Teresa Wegg, Theresa Wegg, Wayne Anstee, and also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Gladys Cole and sisters and brothers-in law Phyllis Jacques (Paul), Bob Wegg, Jim Wegg (Shirley), Norma Steele (Fred), Butch Wegg and Debbie Weibe.

Farming and gardening were Ken’s passion and happy place. Ken loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family, children, and grandkids. He was adored by his grandkids and affectionately named “Poppa.” He was a life-long resident of the St. Marys area and over the years he coached many of his children’s hockey, ringette and baseball teams and remembered that time very fondly. As Ken graduated to Poppa, he was a proud spectator at his grandkids' hockey, ringette, baseball, motocross racing and soccer games. Ken loved watching these games as much as watching his Toronto Maple Leafs. Ken will be remembered for his ever-present smile, quick laugh, and big teddy bear demeanor. Ken enjoyed weekly visits with friends, loved all animals, loved his wife, campfires, oldies music and the simple things in life.

A private family interment in St. Marys Cemetery will take place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
