Obituary of Joyce Olive Hyde

Joyce (Henry) Hyde
    1942 -2022

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend is at peace. Joyce Hyde passed away peacefully in the early hours on the morning of November 30th, 2022 just days after losing her own mother.
 

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Jenny(Steve Jones) and Jody (Mike “Fletch” Fletcher). She loved enjoying  a cocktail with her two favourite son in laws. Joyce leaves many wonderful memories to be cherished by her grandchildren Brittney Jones (Matt Ward), Morgann Jones (Andrew Crowley), Cameron Fletcher and Zackary Fletcher.  She was an extra special great grandma to Carter and Bentley Crowley.  She is predeceased  by Jim Hyde, Gary Douglas, her parents Oliver(1973) and Edith Henry(2022),and brothers Allen (1975) and Keith (1963).  Joyce is survived by her brother Ike Henry, sister Rita Henry (Chris Glue) and sister in law Judy Fischer.  She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends.

All people die, but not all people live and Joyce “lived”. Dressed to kill, always in high heels with a cigarette between her lips she was a rock star in her sports car speeding down the road. Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people.

After decades of work she retired from Hutton Farm Supplies to spend time golfing and winters in Mexico. Her work ethic and dedication was second to none. All the farmers in the area knew they could count on her to be there early even before the mill opened.

Special thanks to the staff at Amica London and the palliative care team members from St Elizabeth and the VON for taking such great care of her.

One in a million, she was an independent woman who provided us with memories to last several lifetimes and so we invite you to join us to celebrate together on Sunday December 18th, 2022 from 2pm to 5pm at RIVER VALLEY GOLF COURSE, 4725 Line1 , St. Marys, ON. A special dedication service will begin at 2:30 pm. Dress comfortably with a splash of leopard print if you have it. Bring your best memory of Joyce, we’d love to hear your stories.
