Obituary of Paul Ross Mullenix

Paul Ross Mullenix, age 83 of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at University Hospital London Ontario on February 21, 2023.

Loving father of James (Kerry), Lois Favacho and Steve (Loretta). Grandfather (Papa) of Stefanie Puiras (Luke), Nicholas Favacho, Andrew, Matthew, Hannah, and Esther and great grandfather of Odin and Lilja Puiras. Brother of Cecil (Ruth). Brother-in-law of Helen Lucas (Charles) and Frank Bean. Predeceased by the love of his life for 61 years, Shirley (January 2021) and his parents Roscoe and Anna Mullenix. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul owned Mitchell Nursery and Thames Nursery. He was the first to propagate azaleas and rhododendrons in Canada and started the Canadian Rhododendron Society through Vineland Experimental Farms. He was the chief horticultural expert and troubleshooter for Wetsel Seeds USA. He was a Christian, beloved Father, Grand- and Great-Grand parent.

Visitation will be held at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home (47 Wellington St. S., St. Marys) on Tuesday, February 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 1 at 11 a.m. Internment to follow at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford.
