To the Burley Family
The very first home Doug and I bought was next door to the Burley home. We couldn’t ask for nicer neighbours.
Ann Marie taught me to crochet. She was a lady of great patience!!
One of my warmest memories of Ann Marie is the day I was cooking pork chops. The smell of them cooking was making me sick, just as she was walking into my kitchen. She took the meat and half prepared lemon pie across the lawn, to finish. A while later her and Bill walked over with the meat, mashed potatoes, veggies and a beautiful lemon pie. That was Ann Marie, always ready to help.
Sending my sympathy, Glenna

Had not seen Anne Marie since her parents died. Anne Marie was the "big girl" in the neighbourhood where I grew up and she directed a lot of our play activities. She taught me the ins and outs of baseball in the years before there were leagues and we used to play with our Barbies together. She and her Mom were great bakers and cooks from very early on, and in high school I would go over to pick the pre-school brothers up at their place after school ( Mrs. Iredale babysat them) and I would get little visits in with Ann Marie - who was two years my senior.
I am sorry to hear that she suffered from Alzheimers and had lost her birth family all before her passing. But it looks as though she had many family members to love and support her.
Will always have fond memories of that older neighbour girl that took the time to mentor and encourage we younger girls in the block.

Ann was a rock in my early years. She was unerringly kind to a younger cousin who trailed her like a puppy. Time and distance, life, got in between us but she will alway be in my heart. My deepest sympathy to Bill and Shaun and Tammy and Shelley who shared a lifetime with that kind and wonderful person. I am so very sorry she is gone and that the last few years were so rough.
