Obituary of Carol Pearl Martin

Carol Pearl Martin (nee Watson) passed away with family at her side on September 4, 2023 at the age of 77.

Beloved wife of the late Terry Martin whom she was married to for 57 years until the time of his passing in October of 2020.

Survived by her children Barb Nicholson (Brian McKinnon), Tracey Martin (Mark Dries) and Rick Martin (Andrea). Proud Grandmother to 7 granddaughters Katie McNaughton (Jason), Breanne Ireland (Chad), Keisha Stacey, Tori Axelson (the late Anders), Alicia (David), Melanie and Abby Martin. Great Grandmother to Wyatt, Bryson, Sophia, Whitney, Andres Jr. and Anastasia. Sister to Crystal Thompson, Robert Watson (Eleanor), David Watson (Robin). Sister in-law to Annetta Watson (Jack), Diane and Pat Martin. Carol will also be missed by her extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her parents Milton and Pearl Watson, brother Clinton Watson; brother and sister in laws, Jack Thompson, Catherine Watson, Bruce, Don, Delbert, Roy, Jim, Bob; Marilyn, Rose, Valrae and Ruthanne Martin, son-in-law Tim Nicholson.

Terry and Carol were married June 16 1963 at the family farm in Thedford. They moved to St. Marys in 1966 where Terry had accepted a position with the St. Marys PUC. They made their home in St. Marys where they raised their family. Carol loved to test her luck at the casinos and Bingo and was just as happy winning her chocolate bars at Wildwood as she was winning big money at the casino. Terry and Carol spent their retirement years traveling in their RV across Canada and spending the winters in Florida. Great memories were made on weekend family camping trips including a long trip out west with four young granddaughters.

Cremation has taken place and a family graveside memorial service will follow at a later date.
