Obituary of Jerry Dezan Lemay

Jerry Dezan Lemay, age 27, of St. Marys, passed away on Monday September 18, 2023 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.

Born in St. Marys, Jerry was the son of Elly Dezan and Andre Lemay. Jerry grew up in St. Marys and lived there for the majority of his life. He attended Holy Name of Mary Catholic elementary school and St. Marys DCVI high school. After high school he worked a variety of jobs including cooking at St. Marys hotels and labouring at local factories. He then attended University in Toronto, majoring in business.

Jerry was very curious and enjoyed reading. His library included works of all sorts, including Abrahamic philosophy, Eastern mysticism, self improvement, business and finance, Greek and Roman history and the works of ancient philosophers such as Plato and Herodotus. He likely missing his calling to become a modern philosopher himself.

Jerry will be missed by his mother Elly Lemay, older sister Ashley Harburn (Mike) and older brother Andrew Lemay (Savannah), his childhood friends Jacob and Zachary Longeway, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Andre Lemay.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will take place at St. James Masonic Lodge (45 Thames Road, St. Marys) on Friday, September 29 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association, 500-250 Dundas Street West Toronto, ON M5T 2Z5,  which supports Canadians struggling with mental health issues.
