Obituary of Stuart Willsie Smale

Stuart Smale passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, Dec 2, 2023 in his 97^th year.  Survived by his children Blake (Margaret), Gary (Sandra), Ken (Wendy), Karen McLagan (Jim), Lori Ward (Don), Ellen Haid (Al), Marvin Hartwick (Orrie) and son-in-law Jim Dickenson.  Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents Harry and Vera Smale, wife Joyce (nee Mason) 1963 and Ilene Hartwick (nee Sherritt) 2004, daughter-in-law Dianne (nee Kemp) 2021, son-in-law Robert Morris 2005 and daughter Shirley Morris (nee Hartwick) 2021.

Stuart established his Holstein herd at Downiedale Farms and he enjoyed every single day.  His family and his cows were his pride and joy.

Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the ST. MARYS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 147 Widder St. E. St. Marys, on Wednesday, Dec 13 at 11:30 am.

The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on the St. Marys Presbyterian Church Facebook page, click here for a link to the church Facebook Page. The livestream will appear on the date and time of the service.

Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
