Obituary of Winston Barry Smith

Winston peacefully passed away at Victoria Hospital on Dec. 20, 2023 at the age of 83 with the love of his life by his side.

His is survived by his cherished wife Donna Mae (Aldis) of 60 years, loving father of Paul (Laurie) and Terry (Bev), a Proud Pappa of Nathan (Rebecca), Matthew (Amanda), Dawn and Laura (Peter) and a super Poppi to Mackenzie, Graylyn, Harley, Hayden, Jack, Waylon and Cal.

Winston is survived by his two sisters Wonetta, Phyllis and brother Allison (Jean) and many nieces and nephews. He was a special brother-in-law to Jo-Ann, Diane, Cindy and their families.

He is predeceased by his parents Victor and Annie Smith and many siblings and by his in-laws Earl and Helen Aldis.

Winston worked at the St. Marys Cement plant for 34 years where he took pride in being a maintenance foreman. His passion was watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He loved golfing and fishing. His family meant everything to him the time spent with family always brought a twinkle to his eye and smile on his face. No one deserved the title of Poppa/Poppi more than Winston.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at the St. Marys Cemetery, 150 Cain St. St. Marys, on Dec. 27th, 2023 at 1 pm with Gary Mallalieu officiating.
