Obituary of Murray LeRoy Dufton
Murray LeRoy Dufton passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the age of 75. In leaving his earthly body, Murray entered joyously into the glorious presence of his Lord and Saviour. He is home.
A dedicated hard worker, Murray served as a property assessor for the Province of Ontario for almost 29 years. He went on to use his talents as a loss prevention specialist in the mutual insurance industry for 15 years. “Born a farmer”, Murray's foremost passion was agriculture and running his beef and cash-crop farming operation over the years. Murray cherished his relationship with Jesus, and shared God’s love with anyone he crossed paths with, both inside and outside of the church. As a "people person", Murray found immense pleasure in conversation and laughter, especially over a good meal or cup of coffee.
Murray is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley Margaret (Facey), and their two sons, Kevin (Sarah) Dufton and Ryan (Jenn) Dufton. Much loved grandpa of Kyle, Lizzie, Jordan, Micah, Phoebe, Naomi, and Sophie. As the proud eldest, Murray's siblings are: Linda (deceased 2022) (Fred Clendinning), Bill (Janet), Brian (deceased 2000) (Jani), Bob (Debbie), Alice (Barry Hoskin), and Elaine (Rodger Scheuermann). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Murray was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Jean (Sterritt) Dufton, and his in-laws, Wilbur and Margaret (McGuffin) Facey.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17, NIV)
