Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lorraine Feeney

After a full and eventful life, Mary Elizabeth “Lorraine” Feeney (Maloney) passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024. She married the love of her life Leonard Francis Feeney on September 17,1955. Dad passed away on March 12, 1982 so she has rejoined him again for one more dance and to live out their eternal life together.

She was born on the homestead near St Columban on August 6, 1933, to proud parents Joseph and Nora Maloney (Murray). Beloved mother of Don (Leeanne), Gerry (Darlene), Dave (Kathy), Michael (dec.) and fiancé Shelley Lewis, Brian (Brenda Lee) and MaryLou Clarke (Mike). Grandma to Chris, Mark, Katelynn, Greg, Gerren, Alissa, Chelsea, Rebecca, Matt, Charlotte, Joseph, Brienna Lee, Ryan, and Jenny. GG to seven great grandchildren and Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sisters Eileen Pryce and Jean Kelly and sisters-in-law Madelon Maloney (Ken dec.), Laurene Maloney (Clarence dec.), Mary Maloney (Leon dec.) She is also predeceased by her brothers Martin and Leonard.

On Dads side she is survived by sisters in law Louise Maloney (Frank dec.), Rosemarie Murray (Cyril dec.), Catherine Melady (Theo dec.), Patsy English (Ken dec., Bob dec.) and predeceased by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill (Marie Hicknell) and Catherine Feeney.

Lorraine and Leonard met as youngsters and grew closer together as a couple in high school. After high school mom went on to nursing school to become an RN and they were married after she graduated. When her third child arrived, she went to part time nursing and retired from nursing after her fifth child to become a stay-at-home mom to raise their six children. Unfortunately, she lost Dad after 26 years together. Family was always first for her as she fiercely continued, supporting her children in their endeavors in school, sports, marriage and all family occasions and events. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her great joy. We proudly named her “Ma Feen” and loved being “Ma Feen’s Clan” in our family sports teams! She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, watching the Blue Jays, garage sales and was a faithful member of Holy Name of Mary Parish and a member of the CWL since 1948.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr Schiedel and to Mom’s care team at Wildwood Nursing home.
