Dear Ray, our condolences on the death of your mother Gerda. Gerda was a real friend of my mother Riet Maas-Bergmans from Waalwijk. Ever since I can remember I called Gerda Aunt. After my mother and father's visit to Gerda and Lawrence in Canada, we maintained good contacts with her
Your mother called every time on our birthday or special day and those were really nice and pleasant conversations. The last phone call with her, at the end of August, really felt like a goodbye and that was not fun. We then tried to call her a few times, but unfortunately that didn't work anymore. We already thought she was not doing well, but we still had some hope of being able to speak to her again. Unfortunately, that was no longer possible.
We will miss her and her calls.
Greetings from Ellen and Peter Mandemakers-Maas.
Waalwijk, Netherlands

My deepest condolences to Ray and his family in Canada. Aunt Gerda had a special place in my heart and meant alot to me (she was my Godmother and name sake). Unfortunately we didn’t live close to each other so I didn’t have the opportunity to stop by for a cup of tea once in a while. I came over from Holland several times and her door stood always wide open. She was always very thoughtful and never ever forgot to call when we had something to celebrate (birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas, New Year). The last few years I had the privilege to video call her (thanks to Ray who was setting up the call for me). We talked about everything, had alot of laughter and she never complained. Now her biggest wish came through; being reunited again with uncle Lawrence. Heaven gained another angel.
Love u
Antonet xoxo

Our deepest condolences to Ray and his family in Canada. We have not only lost our dear sister but also a sister-in-law and aunt. Although she lived at the other end of the world it alsways felt nearby when we were in contact.
We will all miss her phone calls; she never forgot an important occasion like a birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas or New Year. You are now together again with your dearest Lawrence. Rest in peace (aunt) Gerda.
Lots of love from your brothers

I write this memory on behalf of Gerdas nephew Lloyd Coddington.
Aunt Gerda was an amazing lady and he will miss her dearly. Gerda was a great support to Lloyd through life challenges and always made time for his phone call to wish him Happy Birthday. I am glad that we were able to visit this summer and give her a kiss and a hug.
Thank you Aunt Gerda and say hello to Lawrence for us.
Lloyd & Lisa
