I am sorry for the delay in sending this message. My father, Ken Smith, worked for a time with Maurice in St Marys when he had his photography shop. I can remember Maurice very well, he was a very nice man. My sister(Bonnie Innes) and I stopped to talk to him quite a few years back, when we saw him working in his garden. He remembered us, which was very surprising and we had a good old gab. My heart goes out to you Nelda, and the family and I am thinking of all of you.

I never had the opportunity to get to know Maurice well, but I know he will be sadly missed by all who had that priviledge. Nelda and Family, Though I knew Maurice only a short time, I was still was very blessed and enriched by his company. He was such an endearing man, with a beautiful smile and warm heart. When he spoke, he received the respect of everyone. Such a fine man and Rotarian too. He will be sorely missed. My prayers and sympathy to you and your family.

Nelda, Stephen, Sheri and Ed, Mark and Janet and families, we are so sorry to hear about Maurice's passing. We were neighbours of the Oliver family in the 70's and early 80's. What a treasure he was. He loved his family and his children and was very proud of them. Maurice left a legacy of memories through his photography and his endless contributions to the town and beyond. He will be truly missed. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Nelda, Stephen, Mark and Family: My condolences on the death of Maurice. He was a wonderful guy, with a love for photography which was evident every time he came to Central and North Ward Public Schools and St. Marys D.C.V.I. to take school photos of us in the 1960's onwards. Maurice was a master in getting us all calmed down and smiling and posed to get those great photos! Always happy memories through my growing-up years in St. Marys as Maurice was so personable and patient. Mark inherited a terrific company and Adanac is a stable fixture in this community. May your wonderful memories of being with Maurice, especially you, Stephen, Mark and Nelda, sustain you through this difficult time. Maurice's spirit will always be here in town.
